TRICKY THURSDAY PERRLA is an abbreviation used to document normal pupillary function and is an important part of a neuro assessment.  P = Pupils are E = Equal, (in size) R = Round, RL = Reactive to Light (they should constrict when a light is shined near them and dilate in the dark) A = and Accommodation (they should constrict when focussing on something up close and dilate when focussing on something far away. Close = Constrict, Distant = Dilate)
