As a recent graduate from a BSN program, I know just as well as anyone that the knowledge base expected of new nurses seems almost infinite. After four years of studying just enough to succeed on the next exam, I found myself overwhelmed with the volume of material I needed to really learn while studying to pass the boards. Therein lies the inspiration for this blog.
Like many nursing students, I get bored by powerpoint lectures or textbooks. Of course it is easiest to remember diseases and procedures you’ve encountered during clinical rotations, but there’s a limit on the variety of experiences one person can have. Being a member of the social networking-generation, I relate best to pictures, blurbs and videos that come up on my feed. I couldn’t find a nursing blog of this nature, so I decided to create one.
